Have you ever wondered how it feels to have various identities, different missions each day, and the ability to persuade people to leak their deepest secrets? Well, there is one job that defines all of those things: a spy agent.
Among the many intelligence agencies that exist in the world, there are two major intelligence agencies known for their mutual enmity: CIA and KGB. CIA, which stands for Central Intelligence Agency, is a government service of the United States. The agency is in charge of gathering information from around the world related to national security through human intelligence (HUMINT). Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti or Committee for State Security in English (KGB) was a secret force for the main security agency of the Soviet Union, which went defunct following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Both of them were known for their feud during the Cold War. Their rivalry was clearly shown by countless actions such as assassinations, proxy wars, and stealing each other’s secret information. Fun fact: Even though the CIA was found before KGB, spycraft wasn’t a new thing to the Soviet Union. In fact, the founders of KGB were masters of spycraft that helped the establishment of the Soviet Union.
Both CIA and KGB were excellent in their field. CIA was great in technology and ingenuity. On the other hand, KGB was a legendary spy agency with a reputation for employing ruthless agents, making them feared all around the world. It was said that Stalin knew even more about Soviet’s enemies’ military activities than they knew about Soviet Unions’ military activities
Bet you’re ‘wow’-ing while reading those explanations. If you want to know more about how CIA and KGB agents work, here are some movies that you can watch to fulfill your curiosity:
