Introduction: Fun Courses in Early Semesters

Becoming an English major student isn’t always about studying the language itself. Like in these two courses, you’ll explore the things that you probably haven’t thought of before:

  • Introduction to Cultural Studies

As a new student who will be dealing with culture and stuff, you might find this course to be your “guide-book” during your study. Here, you’ll learn about the definition of culture, its aspects, types, etc. and you’ll be urged to think comprehensively and structurally towards the diversity of each human being. A very insightful course indeed!

  • Language and Literary Production a.k.a Class Project

Let’s leap onto the second semester! To those of you who like to indulge in team-work and managing events, you’ll be thrilled to be having this course. Why? Let us give you some peek, pals! Here, your class will be assigned to manage an event of your own; be it a theater show, art exhibition or even Shakespeare’s musical. Your class will be in total charge to run the whole thing! No need to worry about how much you’ll spend too, because by writing a proposal to the department, all of the expenses will be covered by the faculty. Also to note: your score will be graded based on your contribution to the team, so make sure to give your best effort in this course!
